Lord Nelson Ltd sponsors a number of teams and individuals throughout the year as well contributing to a number of good causes, our Charity Day 2007 raised £2,454.

Lord Nelson Sponsors Junior Talent On The Water

Young power boaters from across Gibraltar hit the water in July to compete in the regional final of the National Honda RYA Youth RIB Championship, with victories going to Dylan Mauro and Paul Penalver (who is sponsored by the Lord Nelson), both members of the Royal Gibraltar Yacht Club.

Both will now go on to represent Gibraltar in the National Final to be held at the Southampton Boat Show, Sunday 21 September 2008, where they will pitch their skills against other youngsters from across the UK in the hope of being crowned 2008 Champions.

In the senior class (13-16 age group) it was 15 year old Paul Penalver who claimed victory, putting in a winning time of 1:19.17, less than a second ahead of second place Julian Mir from the Sea Scouts.

Paul was delighted with his win saying "I came last, last year so I 'm really happy to have reversed the result and I can' t wait to get to Southampton Boat Show and compete in the final where I will be flying the Gibraltar flag. I would like to thank Lord Nelson bar for sponsoring me"

Andy Hunter, Director of Lord Nelson Ltd commented "we are delighted to be involved with this water based sport, and especially young talent such as Paul - a possible future Admiral!"

With 16 regional finals taking place between May and September across the country competition is likely to be fierce at the National Final, where finalists will compete to win a Ribcraft 4.8m RIB, Honda BF50 outboard, Indespension trailer and ICOM VHF radio for use at his/her chosen club

Lord Nelson contributed to the very successful Luna Walk organised recently by The Breast Cancer Support Gibraltar Charity.

The total donated to local charities from Lord Nelson Ltd in the last year has now reached £2,700.

Gibraltar Academy team sponsored by Lord Nelson left in the early hours of Sunday 13th April travelling to Cordoba for a triangular tournament with CR Cordoba, and CR Malaga.

Men of the tournament were Reece Rovegino, Timmy Perera and Manuel Garcia. Also, mentions for Sam Julian, Joe Dennis and Ayoub Benhamou.
